Now that you have gathered all the ingredients and prepared your kitchen counter, it’s time to start making the chocolate espresso fudge.

Step 1: Prepare the Espresso Mixture

First, make a strong espresso mixture by dissolving 2 tablespoons of instant espresso in 5 tablespoons of hot water. Stir well until it dissolves completely.

Tip:

For a darker and more intense flavor, add an extra tablespoon of instant espresso.

Step 2: Chocolate Fudge Preparation

Take a large saucepan and mix together 2 cups of granulated sugar, 3/4 cup of evaporated milk, 1/4 cup of margarine, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently until the sugar has dissolved.

Tip:

While stirring constantly, be careful not to scrape the bottom of the pan or splash hot liquid on yourself.

Step 3: Melt the Chocolate Chips

In a double boiler, melt 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips with 12 oz. dark chocolate until smooth. If you don’t have a double boiler, you can use a medium saucepan over low heat. Add in a can of sweetened condensed milk and continue stirring. Slowly pour in the evaporated milk from step 2 into the chocolate mixture and stir well until it is fully combined.

Tip:

It’s important not to overheat the chocolate; otherwise, it may seize or burn. Always melt it on a low-medium flame to avoid burning.

Step 4: Combine with Espresso Mixture

Add in both espresso mixtures (instant espresso and espresso fudge) to the melted chocolate mixture. Stir in two tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder and two teaspoons vanilla extract. Add one jar marshmallow cream and stir everything together until it’s smooth.

Variation:

For a more coffee-forward flavor, swap half of the chocolate chips with espresso chips.

Step 5: Chill and Slice

Pour this thick, velvety mixture into an evenly greased baking dish measuring around 9×13 inches, lined with parchment paper or sprayed with cooking spray. Place the baking dish in your fridge or freezer for at least an hour so that it sets properly. Afterward, remove from pans and slice into squares of your desired size before serving.

Serving Suggestion:

Serve them as a delicious dessert after dinner or party snack along with brewed coffee or vegan hot cocoa for non-coffee drinkers.

Making chocolate espresso fudge isn’t difficult if you follow these easy steps. Don’t hesitate to experiment by incorporating other inspirational ideas like incorporating white chocolate or adding nuts on top for added crunchiness!

If you want your chocolate espresso fudge to be mouth-wateringly delicious, try these tips for the perfect texture and flavor. Here are some things to keep in mind while making this delectable treat:

1. Use high-quality ingredients, especially the coffee and chocolate chips. The better the quality of the main components, the better will be the end result.

2. Pay attention to the quantity of each ingredient, as even a slight deviation from the recipe can affect the texture and flavor of your fudge.

3. Be precise with your measuring cups, teaspoons and tablespoons; being even a little bit off can make all the difference in fudge.

4. Use a double boiler for melting your chocolate chip mixture instead of microwaving it, as it makes for a more consistent temperature that will yield smoother and creamier fudge.

5. If you prefer a firmer texture in your fudge, use unsweetened cocoa powder instead of sweetened cocoa powder, and increase sugar quantities accordingly.

6. Marshmallow cream is key to creating an airy texture in this fudge recipe; do not substitute it with plain marshmallows, as it won’t give you the same desired softness.

7. Stirring is key when cooking your fudge sauce cream over medium-low heat; if you don’t stir constantly, brown spots will appear which could affect the smoothness of your mixture.

8. Cool the fudge completely before cutting into squares – though waiting is always difficult – but patience is worth rewarded here!
