So easy, it’s almost magic

When it comes to coffee bark, you’ll be glad to know that you can make it ahead of time, store it easily and reheat it without losing the delightful flavors. Once your bark has completely cooled down after preparing, break it into pieces and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. It’s important to remember to store it in a cool, dry place away from any moisture. If you want to keep it for longer than two weeks, wrap the brittle tightly with parchment paper and plastic wrap before storing it in a freezer-safe container.

To reheat your coffee bark recipe, simply transfer your desired portion from the fridge or freezer onto a plate and let it come back to room temperature for about 10-15 minutes. If you want a crispier texture to your bark, pop it into your oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 3-5 minutes. Be careful not to burn the chocolate while reheating.

You can also create variations of the coffee bark recipe by adding some flavored nuts such as almonds or pistachios, which will enhance the nutty tones of your bean bark. Additionally, adding salted caramel flavors can add sweet contrast and acidity to make the chocolate flavors even more pronounced. Incorporating white chocolate or using a mixture of dark and semi-sweet chocolates can offer delightful new textures and tastes for those looking for something different.

Finally, remember that this chocolate espresso bark is versatile! It pairs well with a variety of drinks such as coffee, tea or milk. You could also serve it as part of a larger dessert platter featuring additional delights such as cake pops or mocha cupcakes. The possibilities are endless! Tips for Perfect Results

A treat that's as beautiful as it is delicious

To achieve a rich and flavorful Coffee Bark recipe, follow these simple tips:

Firstly, use high-quality coffee beans to ensure a rich tasting bark. Look for beans that have been roasted recently and have a fragrant aroma. Using good coffee will elevate the taste of the bark and bring out the flavor of the chocolate.

Secondly, when melting chocolate, it is essential to do so slowly and gently. Overheating chocolate can cause it to scorch, resulting in an unpleasant taste and texture. To avoid this, melt the chocolate on low heat or using a double boiler.

Thirdly, when adding instant coffee granules to your recipe, mix them with hot water before adding them to the recipe. This will help break down any lumps and ensure that they are evenly distributed in the mixture.

Fourthly, to make sure that your bark has an even thickness throughout the entire sheet, use a spatula or spoon to smooth out any bumps or uneven areas. This will also help prevent any air pockets from forming.

Fifthly, to add an extra layer of flavor and texture, try adding chopped nuts or dried fruit to your Coffee Bark. Pistachios or coconut shreds work particularly well with this recipe.

Lastly, once you’ve made the Coffee Bark, allow it to cool completely before attempting to break it into pieces. If you are in a hurry, place it in the refrigerator for a few minutes until it is firm enough to break apart.

By following these simple tips, you’ll be sure to end up with a delicious and perfectly executed Coffee Bark every time.

Coffee Bark Recipe

If you like chocolate covered coffee beans, you’ll love this. And it’s waaay easier to make.

  • 4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup coffee beans (I used columbian)
  • 1 ounce paraffin wax (find this with the canning supplies)
  1. Roast the coffee beans on a cookie sheet in a hot oven for 5-10 mins, or until you can start to smell them.
  2. Heat wax and chocolate in the top of a double boiler. I used a metal mixing bowl over a sauce pan of boiling water. Heat the water just to a simmer prior to adding the chocolate in the top. Too hard of a boil will heat the chocolate too quickly and cause it to seize up. Be sure to heat the chocolate just until melted, then remove from heat.
  3. Add the warm coffee beans to the melted chocolate/wax mixture, and stir to cover completely.
  4. Pour mixture out onto a wax paper lined cookie sheet and allow to cool overnight.
  5. Break into bite sized pieces and enjoy!
  6. I must warn you that this is not something that you’d want to give to small children or eat a lot of in one sitting as the caffeine really packs a whallop!
